This past weekend, the Waverley Knobs Entertainment competed in the 2015 Boston 48HR Film Project!
The intrepid team, composed of only extremely talented actors and incredibly creative crew members, wrote, shot, edited and scored an entire film in just two days!
Great question! The 48 Hour Film Project is a wild and sleepless weekend in which filmmaker teams make a movie – write, shoot, edit and score it – in just 48 hours. No creative work is allowed prior to the Official Filmmaking Period.
On Friday night, teams get a character, a prop, a line of dialogue and a genre, all to include in the movie.
48 hours later, the movie must be complete.
This past Friday, our Team Leader attended the Kickoff, where she received the following parameters:
genre: Fish Out of Water
the required elements:
– character: Shawn or Sharon Middleton, Wordsmith
– line of dialogue: “This is the future.”
– prop: ice
additional note: The Boston 48hr Film Project producers asked volunteer teams to be part of the Family-Friendly Screening Group – which meant we had to keep our film PG-13 or lower… and our writers rose to the challenge!
One phone call and 4 texts later, the writers got to their task to create the story that would drive our next 48 hours.
What happened next?
Come to our official BIG SCREEN screening at the Kendall Square Cinema this Wednesday, May 6 at 7 pm to see our film, Mercenaries of Moranth!
A SUPERB CAST!
A KICK-A$$ CREW!
